Why We Choose Fur

No matter where they’re worn, many of our products are designed and built to protect against the elements in the coldest places on Earth – places where exposed skin can freeze in an instant. In these environments, we believe that fur is the best choice – having fur trim around a jacket hood disrupts airflow which helps protect the face from frostbite.

Why We Choose Down

We use down because it’s recognized as one of the world’s best natural insulators. Each ounce of down has approximately two million fluffy filaments that interlock and overlap to create insulating pockets of air, which is what keeps you warm.

All of the down we use is hypoallergenic, laboratory-tested and is in compliance with applicable standards. Our down blends all contain Canadian Hutterite down, which is among the highest quality Canadian down available, enabling us to manufacture lighter jackets without sacrificing warmth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing style I have a CG Expedition parka, which I use for working in Norway and Sweden and it's simply prefect. I have a CG Chilliwack bomber for a those cold days in the UK when I'm doing a lot of standing around outside and that's also perfect. I bought the Black Label Macmillan for those winter nights out on the town where the Expedition and Chilliwack would probably be overkill. The fact it looks amazing in the black camo colours is just a bonus to the exceptional cut and quality. Customer service was also superb when I phoned to confirm the order and I'm very happy to be a hardcore CG user for both serious use in extreme cold and for looking awesome. Top marks as usual!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Slim Fit & Extremely Well-Made! The fit is nice and slim, which I love! Not a fan of being in a huge coat. I'm 6 foot/175lbs and the cut is just about perfect...could use just a tad more room across the shoulders, but only notice that when I tie my shoes. I also ordered the large, but I was swimming in it. HUGE FAN of the Blacked-out logo! I've wanted a Goose for awhile, but I can't stand logos and hate advertising what I'm wearing....this logo is much more subtle and low-key. It's perfect for Colorado winters and feels like I'm wrapped in my bed's down comforter everywhere I go!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing jacket I've had the jacket about a month. This is my 3rd Canada Goose jacket (Chateau and a vest). I absolutely love this jacket. I live in Ottawa and it can be very cold here. It has not disappointed. I found my Chateau to be overly warm and way to hot if you were inside a store. This jacket is warm and not as bulky. Perfect for every day use. I would give it a 4 1/2 if I could. The only thing that I don't like so far is the 2 front pockets are very straight inside. I feel like my keys or phone will fall out, they never have but i feel they could. Other then that its a great jacket and would recommend

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Caution! I bought this jacket. The quality is great as usual but the jacket depicted on the website looks to be different shades of Gray. When i received the jacket I was surprised to see that the jacket is actually gray/blue/and some what beige. I wanted to confirm this with Customer Care but they simply blamed lighting for this discrepancy. Buyer beware!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Outstanding Quality and Fit Fair warning, this is a long review! But a purchase of this type is a significant investment and one that warrants an in depth review in my opinion. I purchased the Macmillan Black Label in Classic Black Camo at the beginning of September - I figured the model would sell out pretty quickly and from what I have seen that seems to be the case. It isn't Winter yet here in Eastern Canada so I can’t provide feedback on warmth, although I strongly suspect that this won’t be an issue. At some point after enough use in cold conditions, I will post an update. Let’s start with the workmanship - impeccable as always with Canada Goose and this is my 3rd CG product. Excellent fabrics, heavy duty zippers, and top notch finishing. Colour choice is subjective of course, but I love the look of the Classic Black Camo. Let me preface that by saying that I’m not really a big fan of the other variations of camo in the CG line, nor do I think the Classic Black looks good on all the models that have it. Perhaps because of the length and the simplicity of the design, I think it looks amazing on the Macmillan. The colors and the pattern are just subdued enough to make the jacket look visually striking without being overbearing. My Burnett (which was replaced by the Macmillan) and my Hybridge are both black. After wearing basic black for many years, the Black Camo makes for a nice change and I think it really elevates the entire look of the parka. I’m also a fan of the Black Label and the subtle tonal black CG disk. Best thing about the Macmillan is the fit – which is exquisite. Different body types may have different experiences of course, but this model fits me like a glove. In fact, I have tried on most of the jackets in the lineup and this is at the top of the list – just right from bottom to top. The “stylized hem”, as CG calls it, is a terrific feature of the Macmillan. In short, the hem features side slits and is slightly shorter in the front than the back. This combination eases movement and makes sitting far more comfortable. Unlike most parkas I have tried on, I do not need to unzip it from the bottom to keep it from bunching up when I sit down. That isn’t to say the Macmillan is perfect and there are a couple of shortcomings in my opinion. First, there are only 3 pockets. My Barnett by comparison had 8, including an ingenious hidden stash pocket accessible form inside the storm flap but outside the zipper. It was ideal fora phone, keys, wallet, etc. and I could access it without unzipping the coat. The Macmillan by comparison has two hand-warmer pockets and one internal stash pocket on the chest. They aren’t particularly large either so stuffing gloves and a hat into them makes for a tight fit. I think it would have benefited from at least one additional chest pocket. Second shortcoming and my least favorite feature is the tunnel hood. It’s just “too much” hood. When it’s on, its massive. I have an averaged size head and I’m sure I could fit a helmet under it. I can’t get a nice clean fit no matter how much I adjust it. With the hood down, all that extra fabric can make the collar and neck look sloppy, particularly when the jacket is unzipped. The “tunnel” itself is achieved by rolling out the folded hem on the hood. When deployed, you lose all peripheral vision. I’m sure that it does a great job of shielding the wearer from intense wind and cold, but to me it is a feature that would be better suited to one of CG’s more technical parkas. I just don’t think it’s a feature that aligns with a jacket that is marketed for urban use. Good peripheral vision is vital in a city environment with crowded sidewalks and streets teeming with vehicles. Back to the positives - I just like the fact that the jacket is made in Canada. While CG garments are priced at the higher end of the spectrum, at least you know where they were made, that the employees were paid fairly, and that the price you pay at least to some extent reflects the cost. That isn’t the case for other “premium” brands that outsource to China, Vietnam, etc. In the end I didn’t face any moral dilemmas anyway because the Macmillan was just the most comfortable and best fitting product I tried. Overall, I'm obviously very happy with the purchase. I will also mention that for the first time I bought directly from the CG website and that the experience was positive. The product was delivered quickly and was very nicely packaged with all the papers of authenticity, etc. Before ordering, I hadn't tried on this model or seen the Black Camo colour in person. However, with the 30 day return policy I figured the risk was minimal.
