Why We Choose Fur

No matter where they’re worn, many of our products are designed and built to protect against the elements in the coldest places on Earth – places where exposed skin can freeze in an instant. In these environments, we believe that fur is the best choice – having fur trim around a jacket hood disrupts airflow which helps protect the face from frostbite.

Why We Choose Down

We use down because it’s recognized as one of the world’s best natural insulators. Each ounce of down has approximately two million fluffy filaments that interlock and overlap to create insulating pockets of air, which is what keeps you warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from meant for cold climates Wow, in terms of warmth, this jacket will do the job. There are plenty of pockets, I am extremely thankful for the fleece lined chest pockets. Durable overall. The only complaint I have would be the design of the zipper for the jacket. Zipper is sturdy, but rather difficult to hook the zipper ends to zip the jacket. Other than that, it is very well designed. It is the right blue color, not too dark or light. I usually wear this when it's -20 or below and it keeps me warm effortlessly. The fit was slightly loose, but I layer up at times, so it allows room for that. If you don't plan on layering up underneath, buy a size down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I wear this jacket when to watch early morning hockey practices at the rink, and it's great! Fit: I usually wear a size medium in the chilliwack bomber, but I need to wear a size extra small in the expedition. I recommend going down two sizes. If you're usually a size small, you'll need to go to the fusion fit. Design: The velcro flaps stick to the elastic cuffs and cause a lot of pilling. It ages the look of the jacket quickly. Canada Goose, this is a really easy fix; just put the softer side of the velcro on the right flap facing up and the grippy side of the velcro on the left flap. Overall, a great jacket with enough down and true to the temperature rating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best cold weather jacket I've ever worn. A fabulous jacket for cold conditions. I've only owned it a month, but, it has performed wonderfully in very windy cold conditions. Finally a jacket that makes me feel snug as a bug in a rug without a dozen layers being required. It's not too bulky and gives enough freedom of movement for most tasks. The only "complaints" I have are about the sizing chart on the website. I would have bought a Large if I had trusted it. As it was I went to wslackandsons.co.uk in Mansfield England and tried them on. I eventually flipped a coin between a small red Expedition and the XS PBI Expedition. Blue won out. The other slight issue is that the lower of the two zips does open up a little when moving about. It's not enough to have any effect, but, you do know its moved the first time you bend. All in all though it's a spectacular jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sensnational Warmth and a Sizing note enclosed I bought this a week ago. Got medium (5 feet 11" and 185 lbs) and it was HUGE. Easily returned the item and have received email confirming refund being processed. Ordered a small and it fits perfectly. The warmth of this jacket is amazing. I am an Aussie now living in Boston, so although we don't get artic weather, this means I can put a t-shirt on and then wear the jacket over the top and still be warm. Throw a hoodie into the mix and the 0 degree Fahrenheit morning is quite bearable. Perhaps Polar Bearable..? At $1,100 USD - you get what you pay for. Quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kept me toasty and warm snowblowing The PBI blue looks great and I suggest ordering 1 to 2 sizes down from your regular Canada Goose size. I wear a size M for Chilliwack, Borden, MacMillan, and Lodge products but had to go with a XS in the Expedition. I am 5'9" tall, 172 lbs, 40" chest and 32" waist with an athletic build and normally wear a size 40R suit for reference. I do not plan to layer with this Expedition parka as I have a Resolute parka in S for -30C and colder weather. There are plenty of pockets for my gloves, wallet, coIns, keys, point and shoot camera, and toque. You see everyone wearing an Expedition parka for a reason and it is because it is well made and functions to keep you warm. I expect to keep this parka for 20 plus years. Love the fact that it matches my blue Yamaha snowblower colour and keeps me warm snowblowing in -20C weather with windy conditions. Made by Canadians for Canadian weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5.7 height I got this PBI Expedition Parka. I am 36, 5.7m and broad shoulders. XS fits absolutely fine, still enough room for the layering. If you are of same height like me and do not want any layering option at all, I would suggest try XXS. Parka is fully functional and practical, I tried Muccollah Parka (Regular, Small) as well. Must say Muccollah looks more stylish than PBI. But I was after the functionality than anything els, so went for PBI. PBI is well built. Fur is wider and more dense than on other parkas I tried in store.
