Why We Choose Fur

No matter where they’re worn, many of our products are designed and built to protect against the elements in the coldest places on Earth – places where exposed skin can freeze in an instant. In these environments, we believe that fur is the best choice – having fur trim around a jacket hood disrupts airflow which helps protect the face from frostbite.

Why We Choose Down

We use down because it’s recognized as one of the world’s best natural insulators. Each ounce of down has approximately two million fluffy filaments that interlock and overlap to create insulating pockets of air, which is what keeps you warm.

All of the down we use is hypoallergenic, laboratory-tested and is in compliance with applicable standards. Our down blends all contain Canadian Hutterite down, which is among the highest quality Canadian down available, enabling us to manufacture lighter jackets without sacrificing warmth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile warmth and stylish design I purchased this recently, and only wore it in the sleet once, but it definitely kept me warm and dry! I also appreciated the double stacked pockets on either side, giving me options for where to put my hands away from the wind. I chose this parka because it wasn't longer than hip length, and because it had a slim fit since I value mobility. I tend not to get cold too easily, so I didn't believe I needed anything thicker than TEI 3. I removed the fur lining, and chose to use the windbreaker lip of the hood instead, as I didn't want to get the fur too wet before the full winter season hits. 5'7" 148 lb. with an athletic build (weightlifting), and Small fit me perfectly

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Appalling zip design and not that warm To pay so much for a jacket and have your wife needing to help you get the zip undone (twice) is very poor indeed. The problem is that the zip goes all the way up to the chin. When it goes beyond the bottom of the throat, it creates a slight bend. Getting it passed this bend on the way back down is the issue. It just won’t budge when you’re doing it yourself. It just hasn’t been properly thought through as a design. Add to that the fact that I am now in Sweden on a business trip, with a temperature of only -3C and I am really feeling the cold. Do they reduce the fill power of the black label version? I do t know, but I am not very impressed at all.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not enough down. Sizing is a bit odd for me, I am 5'8" 180lbs (athletic build) with a 41" chest but small (36"-37") fit me perfectly. The jacket itself is very nice, but there isn't enough down in the jacket or at least not as much as the ones they made before in previous years. It is very noticeable in the sleeves where there is barely any down in that section. The jacket just feels very flat in general considering it is a winter jacket. At almost $1000 I would expect there to be more down than what there is in this jacket. Other jacket styles I have checked in stores seem to have this problem as well, where there just seems to be a lack of down in the jackets. Just be cautious when buying these jackets that they may not have as much down as you may expect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the coat but major quality control issues I bought this coat a month ago. I love it if not for the quality issues. It's tailored perfect and a truly great style. Keeps me warm but not too warm for Chicago weather, how do they do that ;) This coat would get 5/5 stars if not for quality issues. The inside of the sleeve came with messed up stitching about a foot of it is done reversed exposed which you can feel when just wearing a t-shirt. They are out of stock of the Wyndham or I would just bring it back to try to exchange and also heard repair takes long time (need coat to wear now that it is cold). Also was a stitching defect on the sleeve cuff where it had exposed loop. For a $900+ coat should have none of these defects and was purchased at Canada Goose Michigan Ave so definitely authentic. Seems like the companies quality control has gone way down. Beware check the coat thoroughly before buying.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice, but could be better For some reason this jacket is definitely not as warm as advertised. And what people say about the stuffing in the arm is absolutely right, there’s not enough down which leaves your arm a little cold, which eventually travels to your body. It also definitely does not keep you warm in the temperature ranges stated. Even though I’m only wearing a light shirt underneath, I should not be cold in 30 degree weather. I’ll admit I bought into the brand because I like it and it looks good, and I don’t regret buying it, because I can always layer. However, this jacket in particular in no way compared to the moncler one I have which is much lighter and thinner, yet twice as warm. You’ve got some catching up to do CG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Everyday Jacket - Slim Fit I’ve tried on many Canada Goose jackets and parkas but struggle to find the right one, until now. I’ve had the Selkirk, Bromley, Forester, Lodge Jacket and they all seem to be too puffy or too long. There’s lots of mixed reviews but the majority are good, because it’s a good everyday jacket that will allow you to wear most days for most daily activities. Unlike some jackets, I could only wear when it was extremely cold, and it was hard to wear due to the weight but the Wyndham removes all the barriers. I wanted a jacket that had lots of flexibilities and the Wyndham ticks many boxes, I wanted a short parka jacket as I’m only 5’7 so I drown in most conventional parkas. This is hip length which was ideal, albeit it still looks like a parka on shorter men. I’m a 32’ waist, so the medium is the right size. The model on CG website is much taller, so consider this when buying the jacket as it’ll be shorter. Great feature in being able to remove the hood too, so I can wear it as a spring jacket without the ruff and hood so becomes a bomber like jacket when weather is warmer. I’m normally medium/large in jackets but the medium fits me perfectly with the slim fit which I prefer. Whilst this is a winter parka, it doesn’t feel bulky and is really light so none of the draw backs. I’m not a big fan of the fur, so I removed this and probably never use. I love wearing this jacket with a CG beanie hat, with some nice fitted jeans. The jacket is waterproof as well, so if it rains I’m not too worried about it as it simply runs off the jacket. I also decided to go with the black label instead of the standard red, white and blue one for discreetness, as I didn’t want to stand out too much. Very expensive jacket, but think this jacket will still look great in years to come so to me worth the big price tag. Canada goes normally send a black box with the jacket but didn’t on this occasion so emailed them for one. PS it seems that their new jackets don’t come with the blue down label, ordered a few items from them recently which didn’t have it anymore.
