Our second capsule collection with Guest Designer Angel Chen celebrates the history of our iconic Snow Mantra Parka with the marriage of Angel’s signature embroidery artwork, creating an overall theme that pervades the collection. We gave Angel the freedom to play with fabrics, advanced technologies, and design features – all intended to meld the DNA of this storied Parka with her vision and creativity.
Canada Goose partners with Angel Chen as a guest designer to develop a collection that reflects a crossroad of tradition and modernity, underpinned by a heritage of craftsmanship and functional expertise. Angel Chen’s experimental approach to design and colour, coupled with a fusion of Eastern and Western aesthetics, has made her one of fashion’s brightest young talents.
Grounded in our promise to inspire and enable all people to thrive in the world outside, the Fall 2021 Angel Chen for Canada Goose collection plays between traditional Western and Eastern aesthetics. This co-created capsule re-interprets our performance credentials offering exciting new elements that transform our cold-weather staples into something fresh, bold, and exciting for all seasons.
Each piece is designed to mix and match seamlessly with multi-layered styling options, depending on the wearer’s personality and preference. Consider them your lifestyle essentials for day to night, or from city life to off-the-grid adventures.
The result is an exciting group of 25 pieces for both men and women—with 14 entirely new styles for the brand—that can be worn together, on their own, layered up, or worn upside down. In some ways, each piece morphs itself on the wearer, so it earmarks a feeling of authentic individuality.
New this season, the Alxa Coat for women. It was designed as a feminine reinterpretation of our classic Constable Parka with an A-line shape and dramatic midi length. It’s a warm parka that can take you from day to night without compromising style. One of Chen’s favourite new designs (two uninsulated wind bomber jackets) are also new this year— the women’s Huli Bomber and the men’s Baner Bomber. They are are both quintessentially cool for transitional fall weather and winter layering.
For Angel, this second time around allowed for room to play with a more experimental approach. It’s a melding of worlds that takes us into something new and unexpected. With this, we are thrilled to introduce expanded product categories, including hoodies in Angel’s signature delectably soft material with intricate embroidery, cross body bags that fuse style with function, and an all-purpose waist pack!
