Timeline

Since our on-screen debut, we have provided a range of product to over 200 film and television productions across the globe, including: Canada, the US, New Zealand, Hungary, England, Scotland and the high Arctic.

1990s

We start working with cast and crew on film sets outfitting behind-the-scenes teams with functional parkas to endure long, cold shoots.

2003

Mystique Parka

We design a custom full-length parka for Rebecca Romijn while she’s on set shooting X-Men 2.  Dubbed “Mystique” after Romijn’s character in the film.

2004

The Expedition Parka, one of our warmest styles first developed for scientists working at McMurdo Station in Antarctica, makes its on-screen debut in The Day After Tomorrow.

2010

After experiencing our product on film sets, actors and actresses begin wearing us on city streets across the globe. Fans include: Ryan Reynolds, Mindy Kaling, James McAvoy, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Samuel L. Jackson, Scott Eastwood and Ashley Williams.

2011

Art imitates life in Captain America.  When actors are cast as scientists conducting research in the Arctic they’re costumed in Snow Mantra Parkas that are essential gear for real-life researchers working in extreme conditions.

2013

Since 2013, we have proudly sponsored the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and the Sundance Film Festival and have gone on to establish a partnership with the oldest large-scale studio in the world—Studio Babelsberg in Germany.

2014

We sponsor TIFF’s Best Canadian Feature Film Award as an ongoing effort to bring support to emerging Canadian filmmakers.
During a snowy winter production in Germany, Director Wes Anderson and his crew trust Canada Goose to keep them warm while shooting The Grand Budapest Hotel.

2018

Director Taika Waititi keeps dry during some rainy days on set around New Zealand while shooting the comedy adventure, Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
Director Steven Spielberg dresses in Canada Goose while directing scenes of Ready Player One.

2019

Canada Goose partners with IndieWire  to host the Women in Film dinner at both TIFF 2019 and Sundance 2019 to celebrate the female filmmakers at each festival and shine the spotlight on their work.

2020

Canada Goose hosts female filmmaker panel discussions with The Atlantic  and IndieWire  to highlight Sundance Film Festival’s the most important films and conversations at Sundance 2020, including The Assistant  and The Forty-Year-Old Version.
For TIFF 2020, Ambassador Sarah Gadon attends the Canada Goose-hosted outdoor screening of No Ordinary  Man, plus contributes as a writer talking about her love of film for Beyond.
Toronto's own Shamier Anderson takes us along for a personal look at his TIFF 2020 experience as a festival ambassador and star of the premiere film, Bruised.
We continue to be a staple on film sets around the world, and maintain our official sponsorship of film festivals, with a keen focus on rising talent and promoting independent filmmakers.
