Every piece has a story to tell. With Canada Goose Generations, we keep quality pieces in circulation and extend their lifetime—bringing our commitment to sustainability and uncompromising craftsmanship right to your closet.
Over its lifetime, your Canada Goose jacket will go on some big adventures. From exploring rugged landscapes to cozy commutes, or having a starring role on big screens and social feeds alike, every jacket has a legacy that’s possible thanks to our uncompromised craftsmanship and durability. Our approach has always been one of slow fashion: we design function-first and take our time to consider every detail, using high quality materials that are expertly made and designed to stand the test of time and the elements. Generation after generation, your jacket is ready to continue on the adventure—and we’re excited to announce a new platform that will keep it in circulation.
Launching this month in the United States, Canada Goose Generations is our authorized platform for you to trade-in and purchase pre-loved products. “Canada Goose Generations is our purpose in action – a tangible and meaningful way to keep the planet cold and the people on it warm,” said Carrie Baker, President of Canada Goose. “We build products that last a lifetime and each one has a story to tell. Generations extends their collective tale while minimizing their environmental impact.”

Indeed, our commitment to sustainability sits at the heart of Generations—because as our purpose, it touches everything we do. In 2020, we made a public commitment to lower our impact across both our operations and our products, but we’ve been participating in the circular economy for much longer. Our Resource Centre Program has been running since 2009, bringing excess fabrics and materials, such as linings, buttons, zippers and trims, to communities throughout Northern Canada. These items are leveraged by seamstresses to continue their traditional ways of sewing with modern technical materials. To date, we’ve diverted more than one million meters of fabric from going to waste. And back at home, our warranty and repair program has been extending the lifetime of our products for almost as long as we’ve been making them.
Given this longstanding legacy of craftsmanship and durability, when it came to curating products for Generations, we jumped at the chance to open the doors to our archives and include a mix of iconic vintage Canada Goose pieces and limited-edition items. While the offerings on Generations will always be changing, Canada Goose collectors should keep an eye out for pieces made during our Snow Goose days. They may be vintage, but their DNA still speaks to our team today. The Adventurer Jacket, a piece from the 90s, remains a design DNA reference and the Snow Goose Crew Neck, a rare sweater from the early 00s, features the hand-drawn Snow Goose logo which has a new life across our Generations packaging.

So, how does Generations work? Buyers can browse online now. And if you’re ready to trade a product in, the process is easy. Using the style number on your product tag, search our catalogue. We’ll provide a prepaid shipping label for you to mail the product to our dedicated team of experts for review. Every trade-in is exchanged for credit on a Canada Goose gift card, valued up to 60% of the retail price. By keeping our pieces in circulation, you’re joining a global movement that’s committed to reducing impact and passionate about clothing that’s built with care to last a lifetime. Thank you for making choices that ensure a more sustainable future.
