But it doesn't have the should straps like the description has said, which made me really disappointed cuz that's one of the features i love about canada goose. Although some of the threading around the stitched areas is sticking out which I am slightly unimpressed with after spending nearly £500 I assumed it would be more secure. The quality of the coat is excellent and I cannot complain about any other aspect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cause4pause from Great piece of kit The Chilliwack is a civilian, modern interpretation of the storied military snorkel parkas, the N2B and N3B, originally used by flight crews in very cold weather. Courtesy of its hip-length cut and materials, this is one sensible package that would fit well into an urban environment, and remain usable even in countries with a milder winter. I am quite susceptible to getting headaches in cold and windy conditions (eg. when out on the open sea), in addition to getting chilled quickly on my upper body, but have always loved the outdoors. So I've been searching for something thick with a deep hood to keep my head out of the wind. And because of my slight build, most puffer jackets or parkas fit terribly like oversized rubbish bags. Although sold as a kid's jacket, this has been a perfect fit for me with it's shorter hemline, and fitted in all the right spots to keep out all the wind and never looks untidy. It appears very similar to the men's model, except the cut is less V-shaped and the hem and sleeves are shorter. The fit is roomy, as we might expect for these sorts of jackets, so if you like to wear them snug and with minimal layers, size down. It is obviously built for the outdoors, where it excels, yet avoids being overly stuffy indoors in the unlikelihood that you choose to do so. The quality of the materials is excellent: a tough, wrinkle-resistant, water-repellent shell. Lofty and puffy down filling which is incredibly warm, fairly lightweight, comforting and reassuring (almost pillowy) with the jacket zipped up. A genuine fur ruff that is lush, appears static-free and never irritating against bare skin. The ruff is removable while still retaining the hood, with is a definite plus. Two-way zipper which is really handy to loosen the hem a little when sitting down, without resorting to unzipping the entire jacket. I personally like the royal-blue PBI colour because it's bold without being outrageous, and stands out among a sea of black jackets in dreary weather. When used during outdoor activities as intended, the colour is obviously a plus because it's more visible if you're ever in a difficult situation, but it can look a little out of place in a completely urban environment. A jacket like this could create polarizing opinions with people either loving it or hating it because of its looks and colour, not least because of the animal-based materials that Canada Goose uses, despite the company's repeated reassurances on how they are sourced. In my opinion, this jacket is thoroughly authentic, true to its roots, backed by a company with a real history, still locally made, and has great warranty. There is absolutely nothing fake with this product. There is a price to pay here, both in the hip pocket, and in the controversy. But I suspect that for many who like the CG Chilliwack, there really is no other alternative.
