This season, Canada Goose windows from London to Shanghai are aglow for the holidays with an enchanting, shifting radiance. Brought to life by artist and set/spatial designer Ibby Njoya, viewers are invited to pause, embrace warmth, and feel a touch of wonder. It’s a retail concept that imagines two adventurous characters centered by nature and illuminated by ancient glaciers.
“When Canada Goose first approached us, we knew we wanted to create a story that would make customers feel as if they are exploring a different and uncharted world,” said Njoya. “These windows represent the excitement of the unknown, merging the thrill and the serenity of exploring nature and sparking an urge in viewers to take on an adventure.”
“Glaciers are the result of centuries of snow accumulating, and they play an important part in the world's ecosystem. They represent both our heritage and our future.”
To achieve a glowing, shifting radiance that played uniquely with the shape of each ice formation, Njoya mixed translucent materials with opaque structures. On some, he used light from within to create a glow that made the glaciers feel alive—while also adding a touch of magical feeling for the holiday season.
“Everything had to look like it lived in the same world,” said Njoya, referring to how the mix of materials was both harmonious within each window and resonated on a global scale. “We wanted to evoke feelings of peace and serenity—which can so often be found in nature itself, through beautiful formations, textures and colors.”
Ibby Njoya is a Cameroonian-British Artist and Set - Spatial Designer who has made his global mark in the fashion industry through collaborative work with renowned image makers. Njoya is fascinated by the process of conceptualizing, getting lost in the mundane and allowing for ideas to bloom through conversation and meditation.
