granite spires, glacial ice, and gaucho country, where wilderness stretches beyond the horizon AND ENDURANCE IS TESTED
Creative director Haider Ackermann led the latest Snow Goose by Canada Goose Expedition through the rugged terrain of Torres del Paine National Park.
To mark the launch of the new Snow Goose collection, the journey became a living expression of the campaign's premise: Axis of Endurance, a study in the quiet tension of staying longer than feels comfortable.
Two principles guided the expedition in one of the world's most remote landscapes. First, let nature set the pace. Second, adapt through dramatic shifts in temperature and elevation.
ACROSS AIR, WATER, AND LAND
Guests were introduced to this unique, majestic part of southern Chile by helicopter, the granite towers of the Cordillera del Paine rising out of the dry flat grassland known as a steppe.
On day two, a catamaran led them across Lago Pehoé to begin an 11-kilometre hike along Lago Grey, the glacier widening with every step. By afternoon, guests were kayaking between drifting icebergs toward the face of Grey Glacier.
The group travelled further still on the final full day, reaching camp in Sierra Baguales on horseback. Once home to the Aónikenk people and later crossed by gauchos, the remote mountain range holds marine fossils high in its peaks, a reminder that this land was once seabed. The evening belonged to the gauchos: dinner cooked slowly over open fire, and stories shared beneath an uninterrupted sky.
